Music

Making music is my newest nerdy endevour. I discovered at the end of 2012 that the step from just sitting and playing with my guitar, something I’ve been doing since I was a little kid, to actually making a song was a small one. So I started using my tool-of-choice-for-almost-everything(tm), Evernote, to being able to write down or record ideas anywhere and then recording them using Garageband and my headphones. First songs where Irony and Lies and then it just continued.

When it comes to making music it’s the songwriting part I really like to do. The recording is not my favourite and thus the results are far from perfect. I only have access to one singer (myself) and one audio engineer (myself again) and I kinda suck at both :)

Most songs can be found in ”draft” versions on  soundcloud but some songs can be found in better quality on Spotify or iTunes, although I normally link the soundcloud versions here as they can be played directly in the browser.

Note that all songs are not listed here. Check the soundcloud link if you want to hear more.

Lies EP

Folder

My first ”real” record. To mark some of my songs as finished and moving on, I took six of my songs and put them out on a record on both iTunes and Spotify.

Special thanks to Johan Gulliksson for listening and giving feedback throughout the process

Reading

Result of playing with the android app RD4 Groovebox and my electric guitar. A song about trying to read between the lines. Quite alot of synth-sounds used here, with the analog sounding sounds of RD4 Groovebox used as the base. Also the drums come from that application. All generated on a Sony Xperia Tablet Z and then imported into the computer for mixing with other synths and sounds..

Enjoy.

Supernatural (Temptation)

I just got myself an electric guitar.. and that means I can finally record some of the songs I've written a bit closer to the way they were intended to sound. Here is Supernatural Temptation. A song about seeing the elves dancing in the field outside my house one night and then seeing something more…

You Know

This is a song I wrote as a chill-out, slow, kinda cool sounding love song. As usual, it didn't turn out as planned, but it's for the better.

With lots of help from Johan Gulliksson (@gullikid) the arrangement became a bit different, with much better tempo, than my original plan. Have a listen and let me know what you think!

Sinners

I downloaded this great app from Google Play, RD4 - Groovebox during lunch one day at work and played with it. It didn't take long until I had something I liked and on the way home in the car I came up with some simple lyrics to the beat and recorded it.

The drums and beat are created using RD4 but the synth is from garageband (for now. I might change that to a RD4 synth just to have the song completely made there).

Not the best singing ever, but this was fun to make, and I now have a new instrument to play with. My Sony Xperia together with RD4.

Surreal

This little tune came to be on my guitar the same hour as I wrote Ghost. I wanted something more positive so I came up with this tune. A couple of evenings later, everyone were asleep and I decided to try to make this song on the computer and it became a bit Electro/Pop-ish. Let's call it an influence of the PetShopBoys concert I was at in Copenhagen a few weeks ago.

Anyway. A little happier tune and my voice at the highest it can possibly reach! Enjoy.

Ghost

I liked the Draugur song, so I re-made it. This time in english. Perfect song if you're in too good mood and need to come down abit ;)

Enjoy

Draugur (icelandic for Ghost)

I just came back from a vacation in wonderful Iceland, and using my native language again that much of course lead to a song being written using it..  This is not a very positive song, written about not letting out ones own person but rather keep all conflicts and dreams within..

This is a first recording, so the song or arrangement might be changed in the future..

From the bottle

I would say this is one of my absolute best songs so far. Written on a guitar as a rock song, it was recorded during evening when the kids where asleep, thus no guitars in the final production. Also I have got quite alot of help from my friend @GulliKid on the production/mixin side.

This song will definetly be available on Spotify and iTunes later on.

Enjoy

Smygehamn

I live in a small town in Sweden called Smygehamn. One day it was just very nice being there and I wrote a song about it. It's in Swedish, and is almost a commercial for my little town, but I like living here so it's not an exaggeration.

This song is available on Spotify and iTunes
